Janie,
Hopefully you are still the person to contact about Frequent Flier
entries. I would like to get this information into

Thank you,

and Oak Avenue Schools
Get
ready for
the robot rumble!! On Sunday, October 16,
23 teams of 4 through 8 grade Los
Altos area students will run their robots
against each other in a tune-up scrimmage for the 6th annual Los
Altos Robotics FIRST LEGO League qualifying tournament. Please drop by
to cheer
the teams on, watch the fun and consider being part of a Los Altos
Robotics FIRST
LEGO League (FLL) team next season. FLL
is brought
to us by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and
Technology) and
LEGO® MINDSTORMS. This exciting program
introduces kids ages 9-14 to the wonders of science, engineering and
technology
in a fun and engaging way. The teams
design, build and program autonomous robots using the LEGO Mindstorms
Robotics
Invention System. They run the robots on
a 4’ X 8’ “challenge” board designed by FLL using Lego pieces for the
structures. This year’s worldwide theme
is “Ocean Odyssey” and addresses how robots can be used to address
challenges
of our oceans’ health, biodiversity, and productivity. The tune-up scrimmage
takes place on October 16 in the Covington and Oak Avenue Schools
Multipurpose
rooms from 1:15 PM until 5:30 PM. The
tournament
is Saturday, November 19 at the same locations from 1:15 PM until
5:30 PM. For more information, visit
